I'm a writer and I run a successful business, so why on earth am I managing a short-stay apartment as well?
In 1986 I bought my own apartment, the Sugar Cube, in this small art deco building. The building had grace and symmetry, and one beautiful curve. It was solid, secure and quiet. The rooms were large. I bought the apartment instantly and have loved it ever since. The first thing I did was convert the ugly back yard into a garden.
At that time, Wellington had very few apartment buildings. Now apartments are plentiful in Wellington, but of course art deco buildings will always be rare.
In 2002 I bought Novella, the 1-bedroom apartment downstairs. Reason: I like paying off mortgages and renovating is fun.
The guests who visit Novella now are always interesting, friendly people with a zest for living. In the past, Novella has been a beloved first home and a premium rental.
Now it's time to sell Novella again, so I have reluctantly put it on the market in January 2012. If you are interested in purchasing, please make an appointment to view it between 4th and 14th February. (The new buyers won't be able to believe their luck.)
